Flag of Wuerttemberg

This is the black and dark red horizontal bi-color flag that was officially adopted in 1896 for the Kingdom of Wuerttemberg and remained in use until 1935. This flag was readopted as the flag for the State of Württemberg-Hohenzollern in 1947 and abolished as a result of the merger into Baden-Wuerttemberg on the 25th of April 1952.

Flags of Westpruessen

This is the black, white, and black horizontal tri-band flag that was officially adopted on the 9th of November 1886 for the province of West Prussia. It is said that this flag was replaced with a "new" flag that included the historical Royal (Polish) Prussia Coat of Arms as shown below. The flag below was most likely used only during the twentieth centrry.

The Province of Westpreussen and Kingdom of Wuerttemberg

This is a map of Westpreuessen (West Prussia), Wuerttemberg and the surrounding areas of Europe in 1820.

The province of West Pruissa was located in Northeast Germany, and it extended south from the Baltic Sea, between the province of Pomerania on the west and East Prussia on the east. West Prussia was also used as the "general name" for the region from the 13th century until 1945. This area was inhabited by Old Prussians and Pomeranians during the Middle Ages. However, after centuries of immigrations by Germans, Poles, Slovincians, Kashubians, Huguenots, Mennonites, Scots and others, the population became mixed.

The Kingdom of Wuertemberg was located in Southwest Germany, and extended north from Lake Constance (which is just north of Switzerland), between the state of Baden on the west and the Freistaat (Free State) of Bayern (Bavaria) on the east. Wuertemberg served as the name of a castle near the Stuttgart city district of Rotenberg, and as the lords of this district increased their holdings, the area of Wuertemberg increased to reach its present land mass. This area was first inhabited by the Celts, then the Suebi (meaning "one's own" people). The descendants of the Germanic people (also known as the Teutonics) became the: Germans, Norwegians, Swedish, Finland - Swedes, Danish, Faroese, English, Icelanders, Austrians, Dutch and Flemish.

Rebecca is in the middle of her six living children Art, Harry, Herb, Clifford, Ruth and Avina. Rebecca is the Great-Great Grandaughter of Johannes and Christina (SCHNEIDER) BIPPUS.

The BIPPUS Family Farm House

This is a picture of the BIPPUS family farm house where Johannes BIPPUS was born in 1764. It was located in Boll, Wuerttemberg, Germany, but it burned down in the late 1950's.
