This is the black and dark red horizontal bi-color flag that was officially adopted in 1896 for the Kingdom of Wuerttemberg and remained in use until 1935. This flag was readopted as the flag for the State of Württemberg-Hohenzollern in 1947 and abolished as a result of the merger into Baden-Wuerttemberg on the 25th of April 1952.
